2nd Sanctuary | 2019
…a new multi-faceted Halloween experience for people looking for an alternative to the typical fall gore…
“When Brian Sanders takes you into his world, you rarely know what kind of magical, outlandish, Tim Burton-meets-Cirque du Soleil-type place you might be entering. “ ~ Philadelphia Inquirer

Skein of the Heart | 2019
“Skein of Heart weaves together conflicting emotions, themes, and dynamics related to matters of the heart. It draws upon JUNK’s signature combination of dance with physical theater and company strengths including aerial movement, sensual irreverence, and dancers’ daredevil strength and grace.” - Broad Street Review

Romeo and Juliet with the Philadelphia Orchestra | 2019
“It was a triumph of a tragedy, as the partnership between the Philadelphia Orchestra and Brian Sanders’s JUNK gave the audience a chance to discover Romeo and Juliet in an entirely new way.” - Broad Street Review

Figmago | 2018
“The theatrical/artistic event makes murals and installations come alive. FIGMAGO achieves this not only through visual arts, such as costumes, lighting, and stage design but through live performances combining a wide range of dance through the centuries, acrobatics, and aerial arts.” - Broad Street Review

Plunge | 2018
In Plunge, Sanders takes a biting look at our present day culture – from the future celebrating the glories of mid-century modern life. . . give or take a few decades to account for historic accuracy.

Dancing Dead IPX | 2018
With enhanced repertoire, new performers, and an extended immersive performance, Dancing Dead IPX showcases Sanders’ signature awe-inspiring and daredevil theatrics, via a familiar theme, but with a new twist.

Urban Scuba: Adult Swim | 2017
“Part of the popular Urban Scuba Series, this year’s holiday offering by Brian Sanders’ JUNK is one that’s sure to land you on Santa’s naughty list! Urban Scuba: Adult Swim presents a sequence of saucy fantasies of what some libidinous grown-ups might really want for Christmas…” - DC Theater Arts

…strand… | 2017
Don your headsets and field gear: seek out along a self-guided through the urban wilds. What seems remains to be seen. Worlds: eras, scrape, collide and unfold us into our future. Seek out as you will: stray not through the sunset.

My Funny Bone | 2017
“[Brian Sanders] traces the evolution of his, let’s say, “eccentric” sense of humor from childhood to the present in a revue-style show of sixteen irreverent vignettes that, as a whole, are decidedly not for all ages. … if you appreciate over-the-top no-holds-barred physical expression that ranges from the satirical to the off-color, the risqué to the full-out raunchy, this is the show for you!” - DC Theater Arts

Carried Away | 2016
“Boldly erotic, seductively exuberant, and profoundly intimate, Carried Away, this year’s world-premiere Fringe piece by Brian Sanders’ JUNK, brings all the physicality, psychology, and emotional intensity inherent in the title, and in the company’s spectacular signature style.” - DC Theater Arts

Urban Scuba: Retro Dive | 2016
“A hurricane fan was going at full blast on the second floor of Shiloh Church in South Philly, home base of Brian Sanders’ JUNK and it was surely needed for this almost capacity crowd on the sultry June 1st opening night of Urban Scuba: Retro Dive. The fan otherwise fit right in with the show’s junkyard set that framed Sanders’ reshuffled collection of excerpts of previous JUNK hits and some interludes welded or whimsically thrown together.” - The Dance Journal

American Standard | 2015
Escape the crush of urban living and be transported to a more bucolic way of life; American Standard mulls JUNK’s evocative style with the twangs of bluegrass, the sweet smell of rotting hay and bare flesh atop a shaggy Hereford.

1.1 Holiday Revue Special | 2015
“Even if you don't celebrate the holidays, Brian Sanders' JUNK's 1.1 Holiday Revue Special will make you want to celebrate something, or just get drunk and fall down like the elongated, shabby clown featured in a skit late in the program.” - Philadelphia Inquirer

Suspended | 2014
“I went into Suspended not knowing what to expect; I left thrilled and excited by what I had seen. That should be what a Fringe show is all about.” - Broad Street Review

Fake Off | 2013 & 2015
“Dumpster-diver-turned-show-creator Brian Sanders took his love for found objects and founded JUNK in 1997. Using his signature style of creating inventive, off-the-wall choreography with found objects and other discarded debris gave way to the troupe’s name.”

Hush Now, Sweet High Heels and Oak | 2013
“Some [performers] dangle dangerously by one foot from short ropes suspended from the rafters. Others swing from rope to rope. Three of them walk or run on high steel heels. They are all buff and gorgeous and dance with a raw physicality on a stage overlain with sand, enjoying the possibilities around them.” - WHYY
